Space Marine 2 Preorder Guide – Discounts, Steelbook Case, Official Merch, And More

After a 13-year wait, Space Marine’s sequel is nearly here. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will be available tomorrow, September 5, for those who purchase the Gold or Ultra Editions for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC. The standard edition launches Monday, September 9. Multiple preorder bonuses are up for grabs, and the physical Gold Edition comes with a steelbook case and bonus in-game content–but this edition is only available in limited quantities. Console versions of Space Marine 2 cost $10 more than their PC counterparts. That gap is actually even wider right now, as Fanatical is discounting Steam keys for all three editions ahead of launch.

If you’re unsure if you want to buy the long-awaited sequel, we awarded it an 8/10 in our Space Marine 2 review-in-progress, calling it “a more-than-worthy successor to the 2011 original.” We still need to spend some time with PvP when multiplayer servers are active before finalizing our review, but the hack-and-slash combat is satisfying and the sprawling world is well-designed.

If you’re waiting until the standard edition launches to start playing, you could still dive into the world of Space Marines this weekend with the Game Workshop’s official board game. The two-player asymmetrical strategy game features the same cover art as Space Marine 2, but it’s a fast-paced asymmetrical strategy game. It comes with a 40-page handbook with instructions for assembling the 23 miniatures you’ll find in the box. Space Marine: The Board Game is exclusive to Target and costs $40.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 preorder bonuses

All Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 preorders come with the Macragge’s Chosen DLC. You’ll get three additional cosmetics for the Bolt Rifle, Chainsword, and Power Armor.

$60-$70

The standard edition of Space Marine 2 includes the base game and aforementioned preorder bonuses for $60-$70. Physical editions for PS5 and Xbox Series X are available to preorder for $70 at multiple major retailers, including Amazon and Best Buy.

The PC version of Space Marine 2 costs $60, but you can get it for even less by preordering your Steam key at Fanatical.

$90-$100 | Physical includes steelbook case

Space Marine 2’s Gold Edition costs $90 on PC and $100 on Xbox Series X|S and PS5. The physical edition is bundled with a steelbook case featuring exclusive artwork (shown above). Physical and digital versions come with the preorder bonus and two notable perks:

• Four-day early access starting on September 5
• Season Pass (Unlocks new Chapter Champions, skins, weapons, and armor)

The Gold Edition for PC is also available for a discount at Fanatical, dropping the price from $90 to $79.19.

$100-$110

The Ultra Edition comes with everything from the Gold Edition as well as the Ultramarines Champion Pack, which includes unique Power Armor and Heavy Bolter skins. Space Marine 2’s Ultra Edition is only available digitally and costs $10 more than the Gold Edition. Console versions go for $110, while the PC edition is $100.

Once again, PC players can save $12 on the Ultra Edition at Fanatical, dropping the price to $88.

Space Marine 2’s Collector’s Edition comes with all of the content from lower-priced editions as well as the following:

• Collector’s case with exclusive artwork
• Lieutenant Titus statue (8.25 x 6.7-inch resin statue)
• The Art and Making of Space Marine 2 (172-page art book)

The Collector’s Edition is sold out for consoles and PC.
